OK, a biggie for the first post!
With all the talk of the credit crunch how is it affecting your plans for your wedding day? Have you made any cut backs? Doing more elements your self? Any big tips for saving money?
Some ideas to save money on your wedding day:
1. Think about cutting your guest list. Each guest can cost an excess of £50, sometimes upwards of £100 per guest! If you must have everyone there, think about a late wedding and have a buffet instead of a sit-down meal, or have a tea-party instead!
2. Skip the favours. This is not an essential part of the wedding and can save you a couple of hundred pounds.
3. Use seasonal flowers instead of exotic ones that have to be air-freighted in. One large display will have more impact than many smaller ones and can be moved from room to room. Think about having pot plants on the tables instead that can be given away as gifts or don't use flowers at all on the tables and use scented candles floating in water.
4. If you're having an event all in one venue you may not require transport hire as you'll already be at the venue when the guests arrive. If your honeymoon/first night hotel is elsewhere why not consider a London Style Taxi to take you from the venue.
5. Use the cake as dessert instead of paying for desserts AND cake for each guest.
That's just a few ideas for the time being.
Happy Planning!
